I am looking to buy an atv. I currently drive a Mitsubishi RVR, so towing is out of the question. Does the average ATV fit in a regular size U-haul van? I bought ramps just in case. Any info on transporting is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Guess I will have to rent one. That sucks. Nobody I know owns one. I am building a trailer and don't have any idea of what dimensions I am supposed to be working with. This site kinda sucks. What do people actually use it for?

If you go to any of the ATV brand websites, they will give you dimensions and weight under technical specs. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "regular size" UHaul van. You mean a 3/4 or 1 Ton common contractor van or something a big bigger like a cube van? I'm pretty sure mid size ATV's will fit in the smaller van. The restricting factors will be rear cargo door opening and space between wheel wells. Wheel well distance is usually around 48-50 inches wide.

Let me get this straight.
Your buying an ATV & are building a trailer to haul it.
Yet you can't figure out what size the ATV is???
You browbeat the site because we can't tell you the dimensions of the ATV that you haven't decided on??
They can be quite diff running the gamut from a small Yam to an extra wide & long two-up.
Perhaps a tape measure & an ATV dealership would be a good place to start, after all you supposed to be looking at buying one anyway!!

How do I put mustard on my hotdog? Makes you wonder how some(actually quite a few) make it through life.
