Do you have any tracks for the trails around your Lodge? If so can you post them so we can take a look and make some plans. I would like some easy trails because we are taking the wives for a ride and also some good and muddy ones for the day of the boys ride.

Thanks

Hi Deucy,
Other than the Haliburton to Lindsay railtrail, there are virtually no "easy" trails around the village of Haliburton. But there's no lack of very challenging trails.
Gooderham has access to the 5-Points, which consists of a really good mixture of trail types, but in general, not quite as hard on the rider (or bike) as some of the trails between Gooderham and Haliburton (like the Hillbilly and Goat trails.) If you're looking for something "easy" near Gooderham, there's a little-known railtrail (IB&O) that runs east through Tory Hill to Wilberforce and beyond. Although there are a lot of sandy sections that are annoyingly "whooped out," its a very scenic trail, as it mostly follows the Irondale River. This would be one of the few "easy" trails in the area.

As far as posting Garmin tracks, I've got lots of tracks on my GPS, but don't have a clue how to post them.
I think "Sting" knows a site where you can download GPS tracks, and he knows that area.

Those who stay at Kashaga Lodge are given a hand-drawn trailmap of their day's ride, along with specific written directions and a phone number if there's a problem.

Thanks for the post, lemme know if there are any other questions.

Heres a link to GPSXchange, look in the Quad/ATV section:

http://www.gpsxchange.com/

You need to upload one "new" track before you are allowed to download any of the tracks from the site.

As a side note, heres a link to an old thread about the IBO:

Cheers,
