Has anyone had any problems with there 4x4 switch, mine will not go into 4 wheel drive, keeps reading 2wd, not flashing, plus when l go down the road it is bogging at 30 kms, l put some sea foam in the fuel, not working, plus l have a leak of oil coming from my rear output shaft seal, is this a big job to fix? or can l put some kind of oil seal treatment in the quad?

just asking before ll take it to dealer, 2008 Brute 750, thanks :pissed:

Is it possible that you somehow activated the "broken belt sensor", it will limit speed and the 4x4.
The oil seal is easy to change.
My buddy got rid of his 2010 brute because of it, had to change the oil seal after every ride.
They supposedly re-designed it for the 2011 model.

does the actuator on the belt housing make a noise when you first turn the key on ? If not I would probably take it off and clean it , there is a video on mud in my blood that walks you through the cleaning of it .

OK, oil seal fixed, still have a problem with 4 wheel drive, l took it to a dealer, been there for almost 4 weeks, it is stuck in four wheel drive, will not disengage to 2 wd, stuck in 4 wheel drive, dash is reading 2 wd, not flashing, any one had a problem like this, l got mad and picked it up from the dealer, taking it to another one for a second look, Thanks

Are you the original owner? Has it ever been swamped? Have you had the clutch cover off?

There are a few things that could cause that, the broken belt sensor could be tripped as mentioned...your belt may be coming apart...if it has ran with dirt in it (from being swamped), the actuator could be screwed...or it could be just a bad wire...or it may be the speed sensor(does your speedo still work)

There is a lot of good info to be had on kawieriders.com not that I'm trying to push you to a different forum.

While you have it apart, it's good to clean and regrease the secondary.

never been swamped, l did smoke the belt a little before this happened, trying to pull another guy out, second owner off the quad, so a belt sensor would stop the 4x4 from working? thanks
