I have a 04 500HO just started having problems with the battery not holding a charge, thought it was the battery (couple of years old) bought new one with the same problem. after a about three days the battery is drained. Not sure where to start to look for the problem.

I am not 100% sure on this but its something to check. if you have a warn winch I think I remember something about a recall on some of the contactors they used and the problem was they were causing a drain on the electrical system. hope this helps

Could be a bad wire from the stator, or could be the stator, or could be the thing changes AC to DC, or could be the computer module. or could be just a bad connection somewhere. Just had the same problem on mine. It was a bad wire from the stator so the battery was not being charged. cheap fix. good luck

The key switches sometimes aren't off when they're supposed to be. Mine did the same thing so I now turn the kill switch off too. Problem solved for me. Found out when I had the key in my hand and it was still running LOL.

my 04 was doing the same thing, it was a one of the wires rubbing against my frame.(by the box where the wench wires connect at the back of the atv)
