Hey all. I am torn between these two tires.
I've had XTR's in the past and loved them except for the weak side walls (lots of cuts and plugs).
I have heard good things about the growlers though. I know they are heavy.
I ride all types of terrain and do like to play in the mud as well.

Just wondering if anyone could give some info with some expieriance with the Growlers??

Thanks in advance.

Deeter

I don't have any experience with any Pitbull tires but I haven't heard anything bad about them. They seem like theyre a top quality premium tire and I really like the Rockers. They also just released a new Growler 2.5 XOR. price is the only thing that stops me from getting them.

Yeah I am leaning toward the Growler UBER's. Just trying to see if anyone can tell me how they are.
Not much price difference between the XTR's and them in the Royal Distributing cat. 27" XTR and 26.5 Growler UBER.
Thank you for the reply.

I am interested to know.
Have had a few XTRs.
I am eyeballing Pitbull or maybe the black diamond (cheaper).

I have 27.5 Growlers and totally love them. A very versatile tire. Had XTRs before the Growlers and I find Growlers vastly superior.

Obviously no match for a true mud tire in heavy mud but XTR's aren't either.

Not sure about current pricing but I got mine from http://2koolperformance.ca/dirt_werx/index.htm#tires and the price mounted and delivered was several hundred dollars less than Royal Distributing.

Like Deeter said.
In your opinion, XTR vs Growler in mud, which wins?
I am not a straight mudder but I dont run hard road like trails either.
Swamp and rock

My buddies have 30" and 32" silverbacks and in deep mud they are quite superior to both XTRs and Growlers.

Without running them side by side in the same hole it's difficult to say. My impression is that I'm going through more mud holes without getting stuck on Growlers.

Every other type of terrain it's Growlers beyond comparison.

Perfect ! Thanks, that helps me make up my mind.
Growlers it is ! Except I'll be going for the 26.5 size.
Thank you Lukasz for the replies and your input.

Cheers

Another question.
Think these tires will be too heavy for the single engine ?

The XTRs are already quite heavy and almost the same weight is the Ubers.
You could always get the "non uber" version if you want lighter

Yeah, the UBERs are approx 19Lbs heavier then the XTR's I was running. I think they will be ok with the clutch kit I have installed.
I will definately be going for the UBERS.
Thanks.

Well, I pulled the trigger and orderd a set of 26.5 Growler Ubers on MSA elixirs from 2Kool Performance.
Should have them in a week or so.
I'll post pics when I get them mounted on the quad.
Thanks to everyone for their input.

Cheers
