from what I have heard UTv's are illegal to ride on any road way in Ontario. Even if you are licensed and insured. As far as trail riding I think you are good to go, but that may vary form location to location.

I just read a small article in my new ATV mag that says that the sxs's are NOT permitted on any of the actual "trail systems" in Ontario or Quebec, it said that the trail systems are not aloud to sell a pass for the sxs's, BUT it also said that they can be rode on crown lands and trails that are not part of a "trail system" per say, and even after it said all that, it said that they weren't even sure if that was legal (riding them on crown land and non trail system trails) so really, who knows. We ride ours up in the Huntsville area of Ontario, and way up in the Kirkland lake area and we have never had a problem, but we have never drove it anywhere that a "trail pass" was required. I have heard that the police have issued tickets at a poker run, just sitting there at a road crossing waiting for any sxs's or 2-up ATV's so they could ticket them, thats why we skip those and do our own rides with locals to the northern area that know where to go.

We have ridden in the Ompah area for the past 2 years and will prob. go back again. I had to check. Seems like the laws aren't very clear but I'm sure the OPP will clarify things if and when U get pulled over. Clarify it with a ticket or worse! :moon: :finger:

don't some of the rail trails have those fences to keep trucks off? or are they only on the KATVA section?

you can't get a UTV thru the opening
